Canton— Marsha Ann Streeter, 67, of West Street, Canton died peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at her home while in the company of her loving family. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 30 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 21 Park Street, Canton. Please observe social distancing and wear a mask. Additional off-street parking is available behind “LUNA” at 18 Park Street. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund or to the Head Start Program in Canton. Marsha was born August 29, 1953 in Ogdensburg, a daughter of the late Leon “Joe” and Rita (Beamish) Simmons and graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1972. On July 29, 1989 she married Michael David Streeter in the Brick Chapel Church with Rev. Morrell as celebrant. She was previously married to “Bill” Miller. Marsha was employed with St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services, retiring as a Data Operator after 32 years of service. After retirement she worked at Head Start in Canton. She thoroughly enjoyed working with the children there. Surviving are her husband Michael of Canton; a daughter, Darcie (Anthony) Cross of Russell; a sister, Bonnie Turnbull of Depeyster; a brother, Earl Simmons of Depeyster; four grandchildren, Ethan, Dylan and Skylar Cross and Faith White; and a great-grandson Carter J. Cross. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two brothers, Glenn and Paul Simmons. Marsha was a member of VFW #1231 Canton and enjoyed going to the casino, going to camp in Depeyster and precious time spent with her grandchildren.
